The Paris 2024 Olympic Games start this Friday 26th July! lets take a look into the events and the riders representing Team GB:
The 2024 Olympic Games are upon us, and with it, the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Equestrian Events, kicking off this Saturday 27th July.
This year’s competition promises to be a global gathering of equestrian excellence. Riders, trainers, and fans from around the world will converge in Paris to celebrate the spirit of horsemanship and international camaraderie.
The Games will showcase all three Olympic equestrian disciplines – Dressage, Show jumping, and Eventing – with both team and individual competitions in each. Taking place from July 27th to August 6th, the equestrian events will be located at the Palace of Versailles featuring 200 riders over the course of the event. A 20,000 seat arena will be set up around the temporary outdoor arena which will host the dressage and jumping for the eventing element as well as the dressage and jumping for both the Olympic and paralympic competitions. The Cross country portion of the eventing will take place along the picturesque Grand Canal, which will be a breath taking experience for the riders. Keep reading our essential guide for key dates!

The talented equestrians representing the United Kingdom in The Paris 2024 Olympic Games:
Dressage:
- Carl Hester: A seasoned rider, competing in his seventh Games.
- Charlotte ‘Lottie’ Fry: Reigning World Champion and building on her Tokyo experience.
- Becky Moody: Making her Games debut.
Eventing:
- Laura Collett and Tom McEwen: Part of the team looking to defend their Olympic title from Tokyo (the first since 1972).
- Rosalind Canter: Hoping for her first Olympic competition appearance.
- Yasmin Ingham: Reigning World Champion from the Isle of Man.
Show Jumping:
- Ben Maher: Current Olympic individual jumping champion, competing in his fifth Olympic Games.
- Scott Brash and Henry Charles: Tokyo 2020 Olympians.
- Joe Stockdale: Debutant, following in the footsteps of his father, Tim Stockdale, who represented Team GB at Beijing in 2008.
ParalympicsGB squad for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games:
- Grade 1: Mari Durward-Akhurst from Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
- Grade 2: Georgia Wilson from Abergele, North Wales.
- Grade 3: Natasha Baker from Uxbridge, Middlesex.
- Grade 5: Sophie Wells from Harby, Lincolnshire.
